DLOBML CHAPTER 16
Chapter 16 — Infuriate the Demonic Master to Death (7) | The Male Lead Finally Dug His Own Grave
Speaking of which, the current situation wasn’t looking too good, was it?
Xing Ge, who had come to visit the injured male lead, was sitting like she was on pins and needles. She could practically feel malice pouring in from every direction.
Across from her, the man reclining on the bed half-opened his narrow, captivating eyes, the kind that could hook souls right out of their owners. Cold light flickered in them, as if he were carefully deciding where to strike first. The sheer curtain beside him swayed slightly, the soft color of the fabric making his beauty stand out even more. Even his bloodless lips looked sinfully alluring.
Xing Ge thought to herself, Damn, this guy’s beauty really defies the heavens. What a shame he’s so dangerous that no sane person would dare touch him.
She forced out a dry laugh. “Ahem, well, I'm really sorry about yesterday. I had no idea you were Zhenzhen’s master! This really was a case of flooding the Dragon King’s temple, where family members didn’t recognize each other! This younger brother made an unintentional mistake. I hope Peak Lord Li won't hold it against me!”
Her smile was polite, but in her mind, a thousand grass-mud horses were galloping wildly.
F**, if I’d known this guy was the male lead, I would’ve packed my bags and run before the fight even started! He’s a grow-as-he-goes protagonist, the kind who’ll dominate the entire cultivation world one day! Scheming, cunning, and vengeful as hell! Who knows how he’ll torture me for this!
Male Lead: What the hell, who’s “family” with you, you shameless scoundrel!
Hearing her spout nonsense, Li Jiutian’s forehead vein twitched, but he swallowed his anger. His eyes swept meaningfully toward the faint trail of smoke drifting from the beast-shaped incense burner.
Heh… Just wait, soon you’ll be begging for mercy and won’t even be able to die if you want to.
He had known early on that this hypocritical guy would come to apologize. So earlier, he’d secretly contacted an old friend, someone he’d once gone undercover with in the Demonic Sect, and begged a few packets of “Supreme Beauty Intoxication,” a legendary aphrodisiac so powerful that even the mightiest immortal would lose all control after inhaling just one whiff.
Li Jiutian glanced at the time. The old lady who delivered medicine should be arriving soon. As long as that beast Luo Geng dared to lose control, he had a hundred ways to make him cry for his father and mother!
Why did the temperature in the room seem to be getting hotter?
Xing Ge tugged uncomfortably at her collar. It felt as if a fire were burning right inside her body, and sweat quickly soaked through her clothes. She tried to keep a straight face while chatting with Li Jiutian, doing everything she could to cool herself down. The teapot beside her? She downed the whole thing.
Li Jiutian watched him chug tea and sneered inwardly.
That pot of “snow-bud” tea had also been tampered with. He’d carefully smeared the spout with pollen from his good buddy’s “Immortal Yearns for Mortal” blend. Luo Geng, today’s the day you die. The girl will be mine, the world will be mine, everything will be mine! Wahahaha!
Imagining his glorious future, the male lead couldn’t help but grin like a fool.
Xing Ge thought the man must’ve lost his mind from some untreated illness. One moment he looked like he wanted to tear her apart, and the next he was smiling like an idiot.
But honestly, when that guy smiled with his rosy lips, bright teeth, and those crescent-shaped eyes that made him look like a sly little fox, he was dangerously attractive.
She felt her heart thumping faster. Her vision was starting to blur.
Li Jiutian saw a rosy flush spread across the face of the man opposite him, the sweat dripping from his chin, the way he could barely sit still. Perfect. The drug’s working.
“Peak Master Li, I… I think something’s wrong with me…”
Xing Ge finally realized something wasn’t right. But emotional intelligence was never her strong suit. She didn’t even suspect Li Jiutian. After all, this was the number one male lead in the cultivation world. Sure, he might be a bit manipulative, but he’d never stoop to such a low, shameless trick just to get back at a minor side character like her… right?
“Looks like I’ll have to come back another day to apologize—”
The man in green swayed as he stood, his movements like a drunken immortal’s. Just as Li Jiutian was congratulating himself, he froze.something that seemed guaranteed
is suddenly slipping away
or being lost at the last moment. That cooked duck is about to fly away?!
He couldn’t let that happen.
He called out several times, but the other person seemed not to hear. Seeing the man about to escape, he quickly stopped pretending to be sick, threw off the blanket, and rushed to block his path. Grabbing the other's arm, he said insincerely:
“Oh, come now, we only just started getting along after that fight. Why rush off so soon? Isn’t that a bit disrespectful to me?”
“Peak Master Li, I mean no disrespect. It’s just that my body feels strange, like a fire burning in my stomach and I’m dizzy all over. Maybe I ate something bad earlier. How about we meet another day?” she said earnestly.
A shadow flickered in Li Jiutian’s eyes. So this guy noticed something, huh? Well, after all that planning, you think you can still run? Not a chance.
“Oh dear, could it be that the maid used the wrong tea?” he said, slapping his forehead dramatically. “I recently got a special brew made from ‘floating wood’ soaked in celestial river water and sun-dried for a hundred days. It looks almost identical to snow-bud tea! Maybe she mixed them up by accident.”
He lied without blinking, voice smooth as silk. “Once the effect hits, you’ll just sweat a bit and it’ll pass. Come, sit down. Let’s keep talking. I’ve been cooped up in here so long I’m dying of boredom. Finally found someone who can actually hold a conversation, and now you’re leaving me hanging? You wouldn’t do that, right?”
His tone was so artfully pitiful that Xing Ge hesitated. After a moment’s pause, and before she could react, Li Jiutian had already tugged her back.
With a wave of his sleeve, the grand red doors slammed shut. Layers upon layers of spiritual seals locked into place. Without his permission, not even a fly could escape.
“Peak Master Li, what are you—”
Before she could finish, she collapsed with a thud. Out cold.
“Heh, Luo Geng, enjoy the show I’ve prepared for you.”
Li Jiutian’s voice dripped with malice.
Now all he had to do was wait outside for the old woman to arrive and unlock the door. By then, Luo Geng would be utterly finished.
Before leaving, Li Jiutian remembered that humiliating incident from a few days ago. Still angry, he kicked the unconscious “man” a few times. It wasn’t enough. So he grabbed a calligraphy brush, stripped off Luo Geng’s robe, and drew a big ugly turtle right across that perfect chest.
When he stepped back to admire his handiwork, he laughed so hard tears came out. “Luo Geng, oh Luo Geng, never thought you’d see this day, huh? That’s karma for you!”
Satisfied, Li Jiutian tossed the brush aside and turned to leave.
But an iron arm suddenly wrapped around his waist.
The next thing he knew, the world flipped upside down.
“What the—?!”
What the, what the, what the F***?!
The supposedly unconscious “man” had his eyes open now, dark, sharp, and predatory. Like a leopard stalking its prey, he looked ready to devour him whole. That gaze raked over Li Jiutian’s face inch by inch, making him feel a strange and shameful kind of panic.
“Get off!” Li Jiutian frowned and tried to kick him away.
Before the words even left his mouth, his jeweled belt was yanked open.
Male Lead: “?!!”
He fought back with all his might, but against the frenzied strength of the other man, his cultivation was useless. Annoyed by his resistance, the man simply grabbed his wrists, raised them above his head, and tied them up, with the rare Five-Ghost Binding Immortal Rope, no less.
Holy sh*t, now he'd really gone too far!
“Help! Someone’s assaulting me!”
Forgetting about dignity, Li Jiutian screamed toward the door at the top of his lungs. Even after he was almost completely stripped, there was still no movement outside. The male lead, whose IQ had gone offline, completely forgot that to prevent his rival from escaping, he himself had placed layer upon layer of seals on the palace!
“Why… why is this happening…”
A single tear slid down, disappearing into his dark hair.
The male lead stared blankly up at the ceiling, where a carved dragon and phoenix chased a pearl in eternal harmony.
Inside, he was crying rivers.
Luo Geng, you beast in human clothing!
