DLOBML CHAPTER 17

Chapter 17 — Infuriate the Demonic Master to Death (8) | The Sadistic Male Lead Loading

Waking up the next day, Xing Ge felt refreshed and couldn’t help but stretch lazily. She seemed to have had a wonderful dream last night.

A satisfied smile spread across her face.

“Awake? If you’re awake, then get out!” A restrained, furious voice called from not far away.

Li Jiutian was dressed for once, wearing a fitted, high-collared crimson shirt with a thin pattern of sparks across it, and a white fox-fur cloak draped over his shoulders. He had wrapped himself closely and exuded a cold, almost ascetic reserve. He approached like someone stepping out of still water, his face as if carved from stone, his eyes openly full of disgust, as if he were looking at a corpse.

Xing Ge thought he must have eaten something explosive this morning. His eyes practically spat fire. Only yesterday he had been so civil; after just one night’s sleep, he had turned on her and refused to acknowledge her existence.

Seeing him curl his lip into a disdainful sneer, Li Jiutian was furious beyond words. A red flush colored the corners of his eyes. He lifted a jade finger and said, “Get lost! You scoundrel! Do not dirty my bed!”

“Get out? Fine, who cares. You idiot!” Xing Ge rolled her eyes. If it had not been for little Egg’s endless reminders, she would never have bothered waiting on such a melodramatic, middle-school-level male lead. Who did he think the world revolved around? She had her own temper and pride.

Hmph, let her turn her back on him, see what he’d do.

“You! What did you say?” Li Jiutian nearly exploded on the spot. The fierceness in his gaze surged outward like a storm. “Luo Geng, you better say that again if you have the guts!”

“Looks like Peak Master Li’s hearing is a bit off. I suggest you get it checked before it gets worse,” Xing Ge said with a cruel wag of her finger. “Being this young and going deaf is just pitiful.”

Li Jiutian: “!!!”

Damn it, he swore he would fight him!

“F***! Why are you biting people? What’s wrong with you?” Xing Ge, assuming a mock-fighting stance, had no idea the male lead would not follow normal rules. He lunged forward and bit, over and over, tearing at her like a beast. She blinked. Had this man been a dog in his previous life?

Her whole body was covered in bite marks. She was furious. “Are you done yet?” She slapped him, directly knocking down the handsome man. The red jade hairpin in his hair came loose, and his black hair spread all over the bed in a gorgeous, languid display.

Encountering the same pinned-down position again, Li Jiutian inexplicably panicked. He kicked his long legs struggling desperately, despair and hatred bursting forth simultaneously in his eyes. His cold voice carried a hidden sob. “Luo Geng, you beast, let me go! You, you heartless scoundrel...”

He had a shocked expression, his crimson thin lips slightly parted, while his beautiful eyes and brows were shrouded in a layer of defeated gray.

Xing Ge: “...”

For some reason she felt like she was bullying a good wife. This did not make sense, he was the sadistic master type. Maybe it was her lingering drunken haze playing tricks on her.

“You’re a grown man and you’re whining like a child. If people didn’t know better, they’d think I did something to you!” Xing Ge found taunting him strangely unsatisfying, but she could not swallow her resentment, so she jabbed at him with sarcasm.

The male lead glared back with those peach-blossom eyes rimmed in red, fiercely hissing out a single word: “Get out!” He spat it through clenched teeth like a threat. He was so angry it seemed he might tear out her throat the next second.

Fine, if this place would not keep him, someone else would. Xing Ge did not argue. She slid off his body, dusted herself, and left without a backward glance.

That bastard actually left so suddenly? What the hell? He put his pants on and pretended not to know her!

“Turtle b*stard! Heartless wolf-hearted thing! Fickle and ungrateful! Despicable and shameless! Men really are all trash! Should be chopped up and fed to dogs! Scoundrel, scoundrel, scum! Luo Geng, I’ll kill you!”

Li Jiutian angrily smashed his favorite blue and white porcelain pillow. In his rage, he didn’t even realize he had cursed himself in the process, just continuously cursing Xing Ge.

After leaving, Xing Ge sneezed loudly in the nine-bend corridor and ran into Ye Zhenzhen, who had come to pay her respects.

The two of them were happy to find a moment to talk. Ye Zhenzhen was delighted, pulling Xing Ge to stroll through the sect and peppering her with questions she clearly cared about.

“You returned just to look for me?” Ye Zhenzhen asked earnestly.

Seeing the open joy and longing in her eyes, Xing Ge touched her nose and felt slightly embarrassed to admit she had only come this way by chance.

This time the Xiaoyao Sect was under serious threat from a powerful external enemy, and Xing Ge had received the news in time to rush back from the demon realm. After all, Xiaoyao (Carefree) Sect had a grandson under her name, Luo Xiaozhan, the only promising child of the Luo family. Since she was inhabiting Luo Geng’s body, she had a duty to protect the family line. As for Ye Zhenzhen, the request had come from her parents. No matter what, she could not simply ignore it; she owed them that much.

“The Xiaoyao Sect is facing disaster. The enemy is ruthless, and if things go wrong there will be heavy casualties,” Xing Ge explained. “Come back with me. I will keep an eye on you.”

Ye Zhenzhen looked up at the man who carried himself with such composure.

She knew his strength could carve out a space to protect her, but what she wanted more was to show him she was no longer the frail fledgling she had once been. She was growing stronger, step by step, and she intended to stand shoulder to shoulder with him.

“I am of the Xiaoyao Sect,” she said firmly. “When great danger comes, I will rise or fall with them.”

Xing Ge felt a pang of emotion. No wonder Luo Geng was merely cannon fodder. Look at the heroine’s resolve.

“Alright then. Do as you will,” the man said with feigned helplessness. He reached out and smoothed Ye Zhenzhen’s hair in a familiar, almost intimate gesture. “But be careful above all else. Don’t be reckless.”

By the tangled flower branches stood a purple figure. His exquisitely beautiful face swayed with bewitching flower shadows. He broke off a branch with his pale hand, then gently crushed the bud that hadn’t yet bloomed, letting the bright red liquid flow between his palms, leaving ambiguous red marks.

A cold, serpent-like smile curled at the corner of his eyes. He was like a gorgeous asura clawing up from the underworld, every inch of him emanating murderous intent.

“Luo Geng, you have such audacity! Not only did you toy with this venerable one, but you also actually dare to two-time right under my nose! This venerable one will definitely have you torn apart by five horses, then subject you to branding torture and the red embroidered shoes punishment. All three hundred and sixty-five tortures, you’ll taste every single one, making you die the most miserable death possible!”

The male lead licked his lips with a ruthlessly animal tongue as if he could taste that man’s blood. His eyes narrowed and a slow smile spread across his face.

Farther away, Xing Ge and Ye Zhenzhen laughed together. Xing Ge shrugged and felt a shiver run over her.

Had the weather suddenly turned cold?
