DLOBML CHAPTER 43

Chapter 43 — The Campus God Who Spat Blood (17) | When the Plot Completely Breaks

Snap!

The belt landed at the foot of the bed. The sharp little clack snapped Chen Xi back to himself.

So his chastity really was in danger now.

No, he refused to be the one on the bottom. That was a matter of principle.

Chen Xi used every ounce of strength, face flushing, trying to push off the mountain pinning him down. Despairing, he realized the guy might as well have been a wall of iron. He did not budge.

All he had done was slip a little bit of aphrodisiac into the orange juice, and not even much. How did the soft, harmless little lamb turn into a feral beast in a blink?

The honor student regretted it so much his liver hurt. If he had known the kid turned into a werewolf, he would never have gone poking at him in the middle of the night.

At this life-and-death moment, Chen Xi exploded into motion.

He suddenly heaved the boy off, rolled gracefully to the foot of the bed like a gymnast, and happened to catch the other’s wounded little look. He hurried to soothe him. “The wind is strong. I will go shut the window so you do not catch a chill.”

He shifted his gaze away, avoiding those pitiful eyes.

He was afraid he would go soft.

The instant his feet hit the floor, relief flooded him. He wiped a hand over his face. Time to make an escape. He really could not hold out much longer.

He eased the window closed while calculating whether he could jump from the balcony. The second floor was a little high; he would be slightly injured if he jumped, but nothing serious. A few days of rest would fix it.

The question was where to run after he jumped. It was the middle of the night. Was he going to crouch in the woods?

He thought about it for a long time, so long he did not notice someone press up behind him.

Hands planted on his shoulders, one on either side of the French window, caging him in.

By the time Chen Xi snapped back, that warm body was pressed to his spine. He could not help leaning forward, bracing against the glass.

A strange sense of shame washed over him. A faint pink crept over that smooth, jade-like face.

“Chen Xi, do you hate me?” the person behind him asked, voice low and haunted.

The young man forced himself to sound calm. “Why would you ask that?”

“Because you will not let me kiss you or hold you, and you even kicked me just now.” The boy filed his complaint, porcelain-pale face on the verge of tears. “You definitely do not like me. I know it. You are so smart and I am so dumb. I always make you angry. How could you like me? I should have known.”

The dejection in his tone made Chen Xi’s heart ache.

The guy was usually so carefree he seemed almost heartless, a poster child for optimism. He had not realized that even the sunniest people had pains no one saw.

Had he gone too far?

“I am terrible at everything. Now even you dislike me. I… mm—”

The one who had been intent on escaping suddenly turned and pressed a gentle kiss to Xing Ge’s lips.

They parted only after a long while.

“From now on, unless I say so, you are not allowed to put yourself down.” His voice was low. He nipped the boy’s lip, leaving a deep red dent.

The corners of his eyes were flushed. His gaze shimmered. He was beautiful enough to eat.

Xing Ge could not resist rubbing his cheek with his palm. The other trembled, but did not dodge like before. Those clear, glassy eyes turned slightly, filling with a hazy warmth.

And so, they met each other honestly, and the room filled with spring.

“T—the curtains…”

Cheeks burning, he clung to the boy’s shoulders. His smooth back pressed to the hard glass. The pane creaked and swayed.

He did not even have the strength to pull the curtains shut. All he could do was beg his king to leave him a shred of dignity. What if someone came?

Very soon, he could not think about anything at all.

He fainted.

After a night of wrestling like demons, the two of them slept straight through to noon.

The doorbell rang.

“Is my brother not home?” A ponytailed girl muttered to herself. “At this hour he should be up. Surely he is not still asleep. Good thing I brought the spare key.”

She let herself in. While changing shoes she noticed a pair of white sneakers in the cabinet. A guest? Now that was rare. Her neat-freak brother had brought someone over?

Curiosity burned. She tiptoed to the guest room.

Huh. The door was not even closed. Heaven was on her side.

She hid behind the wall and peeked through the crack.

“Good heavens!”

Xing Ge woke to that shriek. Blinking blearily, she stared at the intruder.

“I am so sorry, excuse me!”

The girl slapped a hand over her face and fled as if flying.

What on earth was that?

Xing Ge’s neck itched. She lifted a hand to scratch, then realized something heavy was pressing down on her.

She turned her head. Her mind went blank for several seconds. Then she produced a shriek identical to the one from before.

“Good heavens!”

Why was there a completely naked person lying beside her?

At the noise, someone groaned and pried open sleepy eyes. He nuzzled her shoulder without thinking. When he spoke, that bright voice was hoarse, like it had been used too hard. “What is it? Why are you acting like you saw a ghost first thing?”

Was it not a ghost, though?

“Y-you, you…”

Xing Ge stammered so badly she could not form a sentence. It felt like her skull was filled with molten lead, buzzing and muddled, and she could not find a single useful thought.

Chen Xi saw her nervous appearance with nowhere to put her hands and feet. He couldn’t help but laugh. But with this laugh, his whole body hurt terribly, especially a certain place. He grumbled, “If you had been as pure as you are right now last night, maybe it would not be so exhausting. You were glued to me, over and over—”

Despite the complaint, his face was red, like a ripe berry begging to be bitten.

Seeing Xing Ge staring straight at him, the black-haired youth’s earlobes were so crimson they were about to drip blood. His heart kept pounding and pounding. He didn’t dare continue speaking under this person's oppressive gaze.

He ducked his head, burying his face in the boy’s neck.

Xing Ge felt like a thunderbolt had struck.

What unspeakable beastly thing had she done?

She had no choice but to pin her last hope on her so-called ally.

“System, tell me none of this is real, QAQ!”

Xing Ge: so scary so scary so scary, sob sob!

The long-suffering system had just crawled out of the little black room. Hearing that, it rolled its eyes so hard they almost fell out, and offered a very dry “hehe.”

“Buddy, you really have some nerve. You dared to covet the male lead? Ate a leopard’s gall, did you? After a solid twelve-hour lockup, let me say this: I do not think you will be having many good days. You did not just sleep with the male lead, you did it in full view of his little sister. Before long, his family will get wind of it. You ruined their perfectly good son! Just wait to die!”

Xing Ge’s mouth twitched. “What do you mean broke. That sounds awful. Also, look at me. With this little body, how could I possibly overpower a pervert champion in both karate and fencing? I am guessing this is some kind of prank.” She sounded very sure of herself.

The system “hehe’d” again.

She was about to produce “evidence” of her delicate and helpless nature when the great scholar spoke up.

“Next time, do not do it by the window.” He offered the advice in a soft, shy voice. “Lying down is more comfortable.”

Boom.

Another thunderclap.

This time she really was going to die.

Xing Ge: QAQ (Help, help, help!)

Chen Xi: (づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭~ (Darling~ come kiss kiss)

System: ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ (Wishing you two eternal happiness)
