HOYSE AFTERWORD
Some Thoughts
When I wrote this book, I hadn’t properly written a danmei novel in a long time.
Actually, I had no confidence at all. I was thinking of practicing so I wouldn’t be too out of touch. Stumbling along the way, fortunately you were all there.
Let me talk about the two protagonists first. Rong Jing’s personality is relatively gentle, loves to space out, doesn’t have many interests, just like he said himself, he’s a bit boring. This caused the conflict points and plot around him to require repeated consideration. I’d never written this type of gong before. For him, I always wanted to work hard to deserve everyone’s praise, which sometimes made me almost afraid to write.
When I first published, everyone didn’t really like Gu Xi, but gradually, I found more and more readers in the comments calling him Xi Xi, Xi-baby, Gu Xi Xi... I felt like the child I raised was being loved, and I was happier than if the story received praise! My goose was recognized, this old mother shed tears of relief, awoo!
It received many bad reviews at first but also received even more good reviews. Seeing many familiar babies follow from beginning to end, I’m truly grateful to you all. You gave me the motivation to keep updating. Every time I see your comments I smile. I think this is the best chance encounter. Perhaps we’ll pass by each other in the future, but it's also possible we'll stay together for a long, long time~~~
So then, looking forward to meeting again!
